Use Charm without transport management
Hi. I have a client who want to replace their very old change management system with Solman. It is already installed but so far they have not used Charm.
They want to use it just to approve things from dev into QA and then into production. They do not want to actually manage transports though, for various reasons they are 100% sure they just want approvals, not transports.
All the guides on setting up Charm talk about setting up transport routes first though.
My question is, is it possible to set up Charm and get approvals on RFC's and / or NC's without setting up TMS?

Answer is yes it is possible and I do have implemented this well where customer are looking for change management process and ofcourse solman provides ITIL based process.
Further,
You can configure RfC and Admin Change/General Change or copy of them as per your requirement
thus, you don't have to configure or setup Normal and Urgent change from standard here in this case.
Please note only normal and urgent change are provided with TMS connection.

Yes, it is possible but you had to link you domain with solman somehow.
You can then create a copy of admin change or general change and customize it with your own values.
this way you can achieve it for documentation purposes.

Thank you both. We have it set up then, we have copied the standard RFC and have our own type, and it is starting a workflow and we have the change manager as the approver in the RFC.
However the workflow has no agent and no one can approve it.
Any ideas what could be missing?

There is no agent here but partner called Change Manager whom you can provide Change Manager roles to authorize change request.
Further SAP delivered workflow or ChaRM workflow is entirely different from ABAP workflow.
the processing happens in charm via actions chaning status etc.

the condition NEW_TEXT_FOUND is working fine, also when using custom action definitions.
The most important thing is that in the standard procesing class for this action CL_SDK_DOC_PROC_CRM_ORDER->CRM_ORDER_EXEC_SF_WL the table for the watchlist is read to determine the recipient of the notifaction message.
If you do not use the watchlist feature (in case you are working on WEB UI, where it is not available) you can create your copy of the processing class and put in your custom code to determine the partner which should receive the notification (e.g. processor).

Earlywatch reports displaying additional data from another system
Hi all,
I have successfully created my managed systems in solution manager, I have...
HAD dev system
HAQ test system
HAP prod system
The problem is that the earlywatch reports for HAQ and HAP are including data from HAD. HAD is not referenced anywhere in the HAQ or HAP solution manager configuration - I have deleted and reconfigured the managed systems and the EW reports twice but still the HAD references remain in the reports. .
As the screen shot below shows, it seems to be picking up HAD as a 'related SID' - does anyone know where this is defined?
In solution manager if you maintain the system rather than configure it there is a section for 'related components' but there is nothing defined in there.
The only link with HAD is that it is the transport system domain controller - but surely it wouldn't include HAD in the other reports because of that?
Any suggestions most appreciated.

Standard doesn't have any parameter in the PPF to determine the priority change.
You can create an implementation on badiCONTAINER_PPF to set your own parameter similiar to STATUS_CHANGE.
the logic is to compare the new value and old value from CDPOS with the Object GUID of the ticket with field name PRIORITY and change indicator has U.
we have to use CDPOS table because unlike the status change we don't have a seperate table were the changes to priority is entered.

Yes there are connections to all three systems in DBACOCKPIT; all tests work successfully.
