You can always try to put an entry in the hosts file. In UNIX this is typically in /etc/hosts. Windows is usually C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.
Entry will looks something like:
<host> <host.domain.com> <IP Address>
You'll also need to update / add the following profile parameters:
LOCALHOSTFULL
icm/host_name_full

They entry will remain there until you remove it from the SLD. This is because the LMDB is refreshed from the SLD data. To clean it up, go to your primary SLD instance.
Click -> Administration -> content maintenance. Under Classes select database instance. Select the old MaxDB instance and click remove. This will remove the max DB instance from the SLD. Keep in mind, this is OK because your SQL server database is probably also already registered with the correct associations.

Hi Vikram,
I checked the note you referring to but that doesn't applicaple as we are on SP10.
The reason we are getting the error is because LMDB doesn't have entry for ASCS entry. Reason is still unknown why this is missing in SLD.
Any help to resolve this will be helpful.

Re-Synchronize the SLD from RZ70 and check it.
Also update latest CR content and CIM data patch in the solution manager system and check it.

FYI: I was also in the situation of trying to recoup some freespace following a recent SolMan 7.1 stack (10) update. I went first to my weekly Solution Mgr EWA report and found table ALRT_NGTRACE at the top of the list in section "Top Growing Tables". It had grown 2.6G in the last 4 weeks. A quick OSS search found one Note, 1939567 - Table ALRT_NGTRACE shows heavy growth. Using the Solution in the Note, which involved SE14, I was able to recoup 2.7G in a matter of minutes. It also includes code corrections; apparently it fixes the issue of where "Traces are written in metric store though tracing is switched off". Good luck.

The company where I work recently implemented the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 and now we are trying to learn how to use the SAP Business Process Blueprinting (BPB) Tool to design all enterprise processes inside it.
I followed all the steps of the official BPB installation guide and from another BPB discussion (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3258935) but the tool is not working properly. Some relevant points are:

Business Process created but not published, returning a connection error:
I don’t understand why the tool works for the Business Scenario level but not for the Business Process level. Could anyone help?
Are these the standard design objects or some are missing?

While my custom monitor is running fine with BPMon alerting, i am not able to get results in BP Analytics (though I configured and activated it with "group by options" at logical component level).
In the /SSA/EXM - ECU customizing, I checked boxes for standard BW, BP Analytics Bench/Trend & declared some semantic Ids/BI gen. for the BP Analytics "group by" options at key figure & 1 semantic ID for monitor level.
See the custo. attached.
My custom monitor is first getting the list of Sales Open Orders then calculating the average amount of those open orders (€).
I didn't use the map field options as I consider this monitor as BackLog type, even if I calculate an average amount in the end.
Did I miss something ?
How can I check if some data is retrieved at managed system level for BP Analytics ?
Note: Standard key figures are running fine with BP Analytics.

to answer your question i would say Yes, before you enable i suggest you to double check Managed system and LMDB. let us know how it goes.

Remove it from LMDB completely and re-add it. this will add relevant info correctly. you need to synch data once you finish this, it might take few min. Then run Managed system config.
