Hi Liam,
Could you please explain what all changes were done to reflect new hostname.Did you remove the old Technical system from LMDB,SLD
Old hostname might be also be stored in buffer ,will it help if we clear the hostnames from solman
Go to SM51->Go to ->Host name buffer->Reset->Entire system
Please check below things
1.Push the data from managed system to SLD from RZ70
2.Make sure new hostmanes are pinging from solman(maintain hostnames in /etc/hosts) and comment/remove old entries.Make sure if you are using DNS it is pointing to new Hardware IP
3.Make sure SLD has the latest components and hostnames
4.LMDB should get the latest details from SLD and sync up
5.Managed system setup should contain new hostname/DNS name

Hi Sandeep,
Issue could be due to wrong data in the LMDB .Could you go to LMDB ->Technical systems->enter system SID and Display .Click on software ->software component version.
Are you able to see the ST/PI and ST/API components there .If not please do follwing
1.Push the data from ERP system to SLD
2. Go to LMDB ->Technical systems->enter system SID and Display
3.Click on the SID ,on right hand side you could see an option Advanced ->in drop down ->select Resynchronise techincal data from SLD
After this check if status changes in managed system

thanks for helping me again. I have installed the SMD agent using its own sapinst, using exactly
the same procedure, as on all the other systems.
It went through my mind to try to deploy new hostctrl, but today I've been busy with other stuff as
well and I wanted to first see the experts' opinions here.

BPCA: Have you run into these issues with UPL ?
BPCA Experts,
We're on SolMan 7.1(SP11) and setting up BPCA but running into the following issue:
- The UPL Job that collects information from Production is using too many dialog processes slowing down our Solution Manager production system. We have limited the number of dialog processes the user is able to use (i.e. to 4) in order to keep collecting data without affecting SolMan Prod for end users.
- The extractor job is also currently failing without giving us an error message
As a result we can't generate Semi-dynamic TBOMs.
Any suggestions on troubleshooting?

Could you try with ./saphostexec -restart and share the results,if still fails to start then try to reinstall sap host agent again on the system.
Additionally follow previous SAP doc and SAP Note 1292836 with SCN thread problem start hostagent

Hi Symon,
With the error log, it seems that there might me more than one Hostagent on the system.
I would suggest you to uninstall hostagent completely along with the Users for that and Install a fresh host.
During the installation, keep a check of all the ports its taking and make sure they are all open.
You can also check your solman installation screenshots if you have taken and check the login user and external/internal ports.
Also check the permissions for the user on the installation directory. sometimes that is also a headache.

Hello Billy,
The Solution Manager has kernel 721 patch 300. The Java managed system (development) is at 721_EXT_REL patch 201. I have checked that the production system has exactly the same kernel and this step went very fine there, without any trouble. So the reason must be somewhere else..
Only small Java packages have been installed with SUM, no major upgrade. And anyway, I though that it might need a restart and waited till the next maintenance window with restart. Then this behavior is still persisting and is still not resolved. Please help...

Customer's NC and UG usually are named something like ZMMJ and ZMHF.

In the Tech Mon of solman_setup when you define the scope highlight the java system and click on remove monitoring.
Take note this will also disable monitoring/alerting for the system/instance/host/and database.

It is possible to do with MAI also, take a look at this - Solution Manager can tell me if any account is locked (ABAP)...wildcard edition
While it is based on security/locked accounts, if you know the 3 character code for the syslog you can have metrics pulled for the other systems.

Thank you for your reply , Until i saw your reply i was only checking the status field under the processing data area :-) . Now i check it in the tab ,Even the status of the ticket is set to Proposed Solution , this confirm|withdraw was not enabled in edit mode.
The thing which i was trying from the beginning is fixed just now with enabling the personalizing settings for enable configuration area . I unchecked the display only option for status under configurable are of processing data:
Now i am trying to get confirm|withdraw enabled beside edit option.
